Effective date: September 13, 2026
By registering for, accessing, or using Mental Detox (the “Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Mental Detox is a mental-wellness and self-reflection service that provides emotional journaling, structured exercises, metacognitive practices, AI-assisted reflections, and psychological-assistant features intended to support self-awareness, better understanding of thoughts and emotions, and everyday mental-wellness practices.
Mental Detox is not a medical, psychiatric, psychotherapy, counselling, or emergency service. It does not diagnose medical or mental health conditions, prescribe treatment, or replace care from a qualified healthcare or mental-health professional.
AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for your individual circumstances. You should use them as informational and reflective support only and not as professional advice.
The AI features are not a therapist, doctor, counsellor, or human friend. Some users may develop a strong sense of emotional reliance on an AI system. If you feel that your use of the Service is increasing distress, replacing important human relationships, or becoming difficult to control, pause use and consider speaking with a qualified professional or trusted person.
Mental Detox is not suitable as a primary support tool for individuals who:
If any of these apply to you, please contact a qualified healthcare professional, a crisis service, or emergency services in your area.
Mental Detox is not a medical device within the meaning of Canada's Food and Drugs Act and Medical Devices Regulations, administered by Health Canada. Specifically, the Service:
The artificial intelligence in Mental Detox is used solely to support self-awareness, emotional reflection, and general mental wellness — not for medical purposes as defined in Health Canada's guidance on Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). For a full description of identified risks and controls, see the Clinical Safety page.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, our systems, or to respond to a violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Mental Detox owns or licenses the software, interface, branding, original written content, graphics, and other materials that form part of the Service, except for third-party materials and technologies.
Third-party AI models, platforms, libraries, and services remain the property of their respective owners or licensors.
You retain ownership of content you submit, such as journal entries, messages, and other personal content. You grant Mental Detox a limited licence to process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and provide the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy.
You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, bypass technical protections, or create unauthorized derivative services from Mental Detox except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
Mental Detox provides a free emotional journal. Users may also receive up to 5 AI analyses and 5 chats with psychological assistants without charge, subject to the rules displayed in the Service.
After the applicable free-use limits are reached, continued access to paid AI analyses and assistant chats requires an active subscription. Certain premium features, including storage or continued access to saved analyses and assistant conversations, may also require a paid subscription.
Payments and subscription status may be processed or managed through Stripe, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other authorized payment or subscription providers, depending on platform and purchase method.
By purchasing a subscription, you agree to pay the price, taxes, and other charges shown at checkout.
Details about plans, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are available in our Subscription & Refund Policy.
Consumers in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions may have mandatory cancellation or withdrawal rights. Any legally required consent to immediate digital-service performance or acknowledgement affecting a statutory withdrawal right will be collected separately where required. See our Subscription & Refund Policy for details.
We process personal information according to our Privacy Policy, which explains the categories of information we collect, how and why we use it, service providers, retention, international processing, security measures, and privacy rights.
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, subject to any rights and warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
AI-generated and automated content may contain errors and should not be used as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other high-impact decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mental Detox is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, or data arising from use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Mental Detox is a self-reflection and mental-wellness tool, not an emergency service. If you feel unsafe, are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent medical attention, contact emergency or crisis services immediately.
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice where required by law.
Your continued use of the Service after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your province, country, or other jurisdiction.
Before starting formal proceedings, you and Mental Detox are encouraged to try to resolve disputes informally by contacting us. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from using a court, tribunal, regulator, consumer protection body, or other dispute-resolution process where such access cannot lawfully be restricted.
If you have questions or concerns about these Terms, contact:

If you download the Service or purchase a subscription through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another distribution platform, your use and purchase may also be subject to that platform’s applicable terms, billing rules, and refund procedures.
Apple, Google, and other platform operators are not responsible for providing Mental Detox’s mental-wellness content or AI-generated responses, except to the extent required by their own terms or applicable law.
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
