This Subscription & Refund Policy explains how paid access, recurring
subscriptions, cancellations, billing, and refunds work for Mental Detox.
It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1) Free and Paid Features
Mental Detox provides a free emotional journal. Users may also receive up to
5 AI analyses and 5 chats with psychological
assistants without charge, subject to the rules displayed in the
Service.
After the applicable free-use limits are reached, continued access to paid
AI analyses and assistant chats requires an active subscription. Certain
premium features, including storage or continued access to saved analyses
and assistant conversations, may also require a paid subscription.
2) Plans, Prices, Currency, and Taxes
Available plans, billing periods, features, and prices are shown before purchase.
The currency shown may depend on your country, platform, app store, or payment provider.
Applicable sales taxes, VAT, GST, HST, or similar taxes may be added or included as required.
The total amount charged is shown by the applicable payment platform or checkout flow before you complete the purchase.
3) Payment and Subscription Providers
Depending on the platform and purchase method, payments and subscription
status may be processed or managed through:
Stripe — web subscription and payment processing;
Apple App Store — iOS in-app subscription billing and account-level subscription management;
Google Play — Android in-app subscription billing and account-level subscription management;
RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase-status management used with supported platforms.
The provider through which you purchased your subscription may control
billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund procedures for that purchase.
4) Billing Cycles and Automatic Renewal
Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the next renewal date.
The billing period may be monthly, yearly, or another period displayed before purchase.
By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the payment method associated with your purchase at each renewal.
Failed payments, grace periods, billing retries, or temporary entitlement changes may be handled by the applicable store or payment provider.
5) Cancelling a Subscription
Cancellation stops future automatic renewals. Unless a refund is granted or
applicable law requires otherwise, paid access normally continues until the
end of the billing period already paid for.
Apple App Store: subscriptions purchased through Apple
must generally be managed through your Apple account or App Store
subscription settings.
Google Play: subscriptions purchased through Google Play
can be managed through Google Play subscription settings.
Stripe / web: web subscriptions may be cancelled using
any cancellation controls made available in the Service or by contacting
us at
support@mental-detox.app.
RevenueCat: RevenueCat may synchronize or manage
subscription entitlements, but cancellation procedures may still be
controlled by Apple, Google, Stripe, or the platform through which the
purchase was made.
Uninstalling the Mental Detox app does not by itself cancel an active
subscription purchased through an app store.
6) Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the purchase platform, applicable law, and the
circumstances of the purchase.
Apple App Store purchases: Apple controls refund decisions
for purchases billed by Apple. Refund requests for Apple purchases should
be submitted through Apple’s refund process. Mental Detox cannot guarantee
or approve an Apple refund on Apple’s behalf.
Google Play purchases: refund eligibility is subject to
Google Play policies and applicable law. Depending on the circumstances
and timing, a refund may be requested from Google Play or may be handled
with developer assistance where permitted.
Stripe / web purchases: refund requests may be submitted
to
support@mental-detox.app.
We will review the request under this Policy and applicable consumer law.
RevenueCat: RevenueCat may record, synchronize, or in
supported cases facilitate refund and entitlement changes. The underlying
platform’s rules continue to apply to purchases made through Apple,
Google, Stripe, or another billing provider.
Except where required by law or granted by the applicable payment provider,
refunds are not automatically provided for unused time or partial billing
periods after cancellation.
7) Consumer Rights and Statutory Withdrawal Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, cancellation, cooling-off,
withdrawal, warranty, or other consumer right that cannot legally be
excluded or restricted.
Consumers in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and
other jurisdictions may have statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights for
certain digital purchases or services. The precise right may depend on the
type of digital product or service, whether performance has begun, the
consent or acknowledgement collected during checkout, and the payment
platform used.
Where legally required, the applicable checkout or platform will request any
consent or acknowledgement relating to immediate performance and statutory
withdrawal rights. We do not treat this Policy itself as a waiver of any
mandatory statutory right.
8) Trials, Promotional Offers, and Coupons
If a free trial, introductory price, coupon, or promotional offer is available, the applicable terms will be shown before redemption or purchase.
Promotions may be limited by account, platform, country, eligibility, or redemption period.
If a trial converts automatically into a paid recurring subscription, the price and renewal terms will be disclosed before the trial begins where required.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers do not change the renewal rules of an active recurring subscription.
9) Upgrades, Downgrades, and Plan Changes
Changes between subscription plans may be subject to the rules of the
platform through which you purchased the subscription.
Apple and Google may determine when an upgrade, downgrade, or other plan change takes effect and whether any credit or proration applies.
Web subscription changes may be handled through Stripe or another supported billing system where available.
Any price, timing, credit, or proration information shown by the applicable payment provider at the time of the change will govern that transaction, subject to applicable law.
10) Price Changes
We may change subscription prices for future billing periods. Where required
by law or platform rules, advance notice will be provided before the new
price applies.
If a payment platform requires your consent to a price increase, the new
price will not take effect unless the required consent or platform process
is completed.
11) Billing Problems, Duplicate Charges, and Unauthorized Purchases
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, charged more than once, or did
not authorize a purchase, contact the provider through which the purchase
was made and, where appropriate, contact us at
support@mental-detox.app.
We may ask for transaction information reasonably necessary to investigate
a billing issue, but you should not send us full payment-card numbers or
sensitive banking credentials.
Nothing in this Policy prevents you from using any dispute, chargeback,
complaint, or consumer-protection process available to you under applicable
law or through your payment provider.
12) Access After Cancellation, Refund, or Payment Failure
After a normal cancellation, paid access generally continues until the end of the paid billing period.
If a refund is granted and the relevant platform revokes the subscription entitlement, paid access may end immediately.
If a renewal payment fails, access may continue temporarily during a platform grace period or may expire according to the provider’s billing rules.
RevenueCat may be used to synchronize entitlement status after purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, or billing changes.
13) Country and Platform Availability
Plans, prices, payment methods, promotional offers, and availability may
differ by country or platform. Mental Detox may restrict access or payment
availability in certain jurisdictions where required for legal, security,
operational, or compliance reasons.
14) Privacy
Information relating to subscriptions, transactions, payment-provider
identifiers, and entitlement status is handled in accordance with our
Privacy Policy.
